Xmas shopping

More like window shopping for me because I spent all my money this month on my insurance excess, stupid cab! Miss V and I are at Chadstone Shopping centre shopping up a storm. My favorite place so far was Toys 'R Us!

I was considering some new wheels. The convertible may be more my speed?

How about this kids? You can eat your favorite foods... They taste a bit like play-doh though.

And what does this remind you of?

That's right! Croissant and waffles naturally (and pink pizza?)

My personal favorite is the suggestively placed ponies. "Why are the little horses trying to kill each other mummy?"
"Well Jimmy, when a mummy and daddy horse love each other very much...."

And last but not least the Christmas tree of horse heads... Very Godfather if you ask me :)

Christmas Bake Off

"If you could peer far enough into the night sky, you'd see a star in any direction you looked. When would you sleep?"

Random question indeed (if you go to edit your profile in Blogger it has a random question... that was the one for today and I don't get it). Oh actually... I do get it but its dumb. The sun is the only important star for sleep patterns right? And even then the answer is still whenever I want. Speaking of sleep patterns, I have been doing the early wake up thing again this week. It's starting to bother me especially considering I am still sleepy! Still I am getting a lot done during the day. I had breakfast with another friend this morning and seeing as I am trying to catch up with most of my friends before Christmas, that counts as another one off the list.

Miss V and I are having a Christmas bake off tonight. We are going to attempt to make eggnog. I don't even think that I like eggnog but making it is a skill that I would like to aquire? What have I got to loose except for some taste buds? There is a website dedicated to Eggnog! I am bypassing the boring non alcoholic ones but the rest look so gross! The "traditional eggnog" recipe says to add brandy and burbon... Yuck. I will let you know what it is like.

So funny that this video has 7,480,160 views!

Growth

It is busy this time of year! I am running the second I get out of bed these days. Miss V and I have our last singing lesson today. We have to sing in front of the class... eeep! The idea was that we were to choose a song that we wanted to "master" by the end of the 8 week course (which because of Melbourne Cup is now a 7 week course). I have only sung it the whole way through in my car. Lukcy it doesn't have ears is all I can say otherwise they would stop working along with everything else. We haven't practiced the song almost at all in class which is daunting. So much for mastering it. Miss V will be fine, her song suits her to a t. I will be fine because it is a group of 7 people and I will never have to see them again. I'm really not that concerned. It has just been really nice haveing something to do on a Tuesday night that is a bit different from the usual.

I think I am going to find another course after this one wraps up. 1 night a week is quite doable, maybe after the new year crazienes though. I am thinking of taking up a language class next time. Maybe French because my company will pay for that... love free education! It is so rare once you move out of home and government assistance does not count when you end up paying massive tax just because you have a semi-decent paying job.

I work relatively quickly but today I have been charging through the paper mountain on my desk. Would love to see the bottom of the pile before Christmas! Wish me luck? I guess really I should stop blogging in order to achieve that goal.

As promised... My new hair cut

All bleached up! This is what I would look like if I was a punk.

After cut and colour:

Excuse the dodgy photo, I went out with my girl friends last night and took the photo in the mirror of a darkish elevator.

Anyway, I love love love it! And for the cost of a bottle of bleach and some hair cutting scissors. Best part is that I got dinner and wine. Very successful evening.

Wear Sunscreen

On Sunday we loaded up the car and drove to the beach. Melbourne has been putting on the most amazing display of uncharacteristicly beautiful weather! We ate olives and crackers and dip bought from the markets on Saturday while lying in the sun. The water was cold to start with, the immediate shock of cold fluid against your sun warmed skin is over fairly quickly and then it's just fun and salty.

Usually a day at the beach is ruined by 2 or 3 days of red, raw, burnt skin so I hit the sunscreen before we left, put on a giant hat and if I wasn't in the water I made sure I was covered up. The result? Not one red bit on my entire body... except for my nose (how did I miss it? Such a good day overall! Hope to do it again this weekend! Depending on how long Melbourne can keep the sun going that is... right now it is raining as heavily as I have ever seen it. Apparently a storm is comming. Still it has at least 3 days to get back to beach weather. (Hear that Melbourne? Beach weather ... stat!)

I almost forgot to tell you! I am being daring this afternoon. My friend is going to cut and colour my hair in her back yard. I will take some photo's and post them tonight or tomorrow maybe. I am actually not being that daring. The girl has wicked style and I know she will nail it (it can't look any worse than it does now. I look like a fluffy mushroom!).

Christmas time mad house

I love holidays. My boss insisted that I order a real Christmas tree for the office so now the office smells like Christmas. He told me last year and again this year that Christmas trees are a German invention. Wiki backs that up. It's a little sad that the tree had to die but it is so pretty! I got to pick what colour the base would be... red! It looks like it is wearing red boots. No one but me likes it. Next time they can source the tree and pick whatever colour they like.

I found a new place that makes vegetarian curry on Bridge Rd today. Not very good for my bikini dreams in March but still satisfying. Melbourne is so bad for dieting, there is so much good food and wine here. I am organising the work Christmas function (a bit late I know) and we have narrowed it down to about 15 venues and 6 different days. I really need to make a booking and stick with it. Wish me luck!
